Our bones, nerves and muscles allow the body to move. When spinal joints (or other joints of the body) aren’t moving correctly, it is a sign that something is not right. Chiropractors use a helpful diagnostic procedure call Motion Palpation.

Spine and Extremities
Motion Palpation
is a fancy way of saying, ‘feeling with the hands and fingers’. It’s quite simple. While a patient moves through a range of motions of various joints of the body – both at, and away from the spine, we apply a light pressure with our fingertips to the joint being tested to feel how it is moving.

Clunk! Grind! Thump!
Not only do we feel the joint, but we also listen as you move. Long-standing problems can often produce grinding sounds or other noises. These can often give us a clue about what’s going on in the affected joint allowing us to select the proper.

Chiropractors use their hands and fingertips to feel how joints react when patients turn and bend.
